Credit Guarantee believes in the need to diversify geographically because it helps to spread our risks and should grow our business. We also require a greater international presence through alliances and contacts in order to provide a truly efficient export credit insurance service to our South African clients. It is also for this reason that we are shareholders in Credsure, Zimbabwe's credit insurance company. We have also entered into arrangements with companies in Lesotho, Swaziland and Namibia so that we can provide credit insurance services in those countries and we are negotiating a number of other such agreements.

Our close relationship with the entire international credit insurance industry through reciprocal reinsurance treaties and our membership of the international associations, Berne Union and the International Credit Insurance & Surety Association ensures that we are always abreast of developments in our industry worldwide. Our co-operation agreement with one of the largest international credit insurance organisations, Atradius (Gerling Credit Insurance Group and International Credit Insurer NCM merged), allows us to offer to South African multinationals credit insurance cover written and administered throughout Europe and many other markets. Our network of information sources, attorneys and collection agents worldwide, and their internet connection to our computer system, make us a truly international credit insurer.

Credit Guarantee also has a rather unique relationship with one of the largest international credit insurers - Atradius.

The association with Atradius allows foreign companies with subsidiary interests in South Africa to insure their book in the local market through Credit Guarantee, rather than having to seek credit insurance internationally. So too, South African companies with offshore interests can insure their international sales directly through this association, in the country they are operating in. Also, through the sharing of information, the underwriting of credit risks both locally as well as internationally is enhanced.
